At the main entrance of the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore we find this ancient restaurant, with outdoor tables, run by the Giustarini family, who directly take care of the kitchen with particular attention to Tuscan dishes.
Here you can eat a real ribollita, tasty typical croutons, mixed cold cuts, cheeses (the real Tuscan pecorino) and meats full of flavor.
The environment is very warm, welcoming, it feels like being at home. Hospitality in the dining room is based on cordiality, a discreet welcome that puts you at ease. In summer and on beautiful sunny days, it is possible to sit at the outdoor tables, under the umbrellas, where in the evening the atmosphere with a little imagination makes you go back to enjoy the flavors, sounds and lights of the past.
A few meters away is the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, the descent among centuries-old trees, the church, the gullies, the right combination between the history of art and the art of cooking.
Located inside the tower, it is no coincidence that it takes its name from it.
